BGMI’s 3.9 update adds Optimus Prime, hoverboards, zombie mode upgrades, and vibrant Neon Town POIs for intense matches

Krafton is again coming with a big update for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). This time it’s version 3.9, and it’s going to release on 16 July 2025. This update not only just add visuals, but also changing how the matches are played. The Transformers crossover is the main highlight, but that’s not everything. There’s hoverboard, new map zones, zombies, and more are coming.
Transformers Mode and Hoverboards Arrive in BGMI 3.9 Update
In this update, players can now calling Optimus Prime or Megatron during a match by using Spacebridge Beacons. These beacons are found in places like Erangel and Livik. Once they shows up, they can turn into vehicles and then back to robots again. They also use big powers like Fusion Blast or that charge attack. It makes the battle more wild and exciting.
A major feature is the Hoverboard Transformer. It not only helps to move fast, but also gives combat support. You can ride it and shoot from air, even do some flip-like moves. It is available from Spawn Island, so no need to search for a jeep or bike every time. But they added a cooldown so no one just kept flying always.

Neon Town and Cyber Loot Zones Brings Fun Drops
New places are added in the map like Neon Town and Neon Outpost. These are bright and colorful, with lights, signs, and graffiti all around. There’s even a Galaxy Burger Shop, where you press button and get a burger that fills your boost quickly. Loot robots also spawn here, and if you beat them, they drops strong gear.
Sometimes, two Transformers fight in Nemesis Showdown event, it’s like a robot boss fight inside BGMI. These kind of events feels very fresh.
Zombie Mode Returns with Big Monsters
They also bring back the Zombie Uprising Mode, but now with new type zombies. Players have to face off big monsters like Ice Dragon or Ink Blaster, which need more teamwork to defeat. So PvE becomes more stronger part of this update.
Update brings new loot boxes like Energon Supply Crate, Cybertron Crate, plus Transformers skins and emotes. Also added Super Smooth mode, to help players using not high-end phones.
