Bungie Reveals Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate With Pre-Order Bonuses and New Story Arc
Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate launches July 15 with exclusive pre-order rewards.

Bungie has opened the curtains to Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, the latest massive expansion to the long-running online shooter franchise. Set for a July 15 release, the expansion sets off a new narrative and provides multiple exclusive bonuses to those who pre-order.
The pre-purchasers will get two instant in-game rewards: a special Exotic Ghost shell and a unique Legendary Emblem. Both cosmetic items will be status symbols for early adopters and are ready immediately when pre-purchasing.
Starting a New Chapter in the Story
The Edge of Fate marks the beginning of a multi-year story arc, taking the franchise out of the Light and Darkness saga, which ended in 2024 with The Final Shape. That expansion closed out more than a decade of storytelling, along with some new weapons and equipment. With The Edge of Fate, Bungie is looking to take the game into new and undiscovered territory, putting in place future content that will be revealed in the years to come. As per the studio, this newest chapter will leave players with questions open-ended, as the new story begins to take its form.
In addition to the early access bonuses, the expansion adds a new raid and an "Active Rewards Pass," allowing players even more chances to earn special in-game rewards. For players wanting a more detailed package, the Year of Prophecy edition packs even more goodies. This release contains The Edge of Fate, access to a new dungeon and raid, and three seasonal reward passes. Also included is the Renegades expansion—a Star Wars-themed release coming later on December 2.
