Cyberpunk 2077: People of Night City Expansion Adds Life, Depth, and Free Content
Cyberpunk 2077’s free People of Night City expansion brings immersive NPCs, micro-stories, and vibrant world-building to Night City’s streets.

CD Projekt Red is again doing more surprising with their continuous support for Cyberpunk 2077. Their new free update, which is known by the name People of Night City, has been bringing many good features into game. It makes the streets of Night City more fuller, as there are now more interactions from the people living there. From behaving better to new stories around, the game gets more bigger feeling.
The Citizens Are Now Living Better
Before when the game came out, players were saying about how NPCs were very static and not real-feeling. But now, with People of Night City, the makers are changing how they act. Many different behaviors were added to these people — they walk around, shouting, riding buses or even sometimes reacting strangely or smartly to what you are doing.
Sometimes, if you make decision before, the same person may now talk differently. This all makes walking in Night City not feel alone anymore. There is now a meaning to the actions of strangers.
Small Events But With Strong Feel
This expansion does not have big missions like what Phantom Liberty gave, but instead People of Night City bring smaller encounters. They scattered in whole map, with each one telling short but memorable stories. For example, you could help small sandwich seller who is being disturbed by local punks, or you maybe discover hidden Braindance of past creator.
These kinds of moments don’t give you just items and weapons, but also a feeling of place. The different areas are now telling more about what happened and who is living there.
Details That Make a Difference
In addition to stories and NPCs, there is now improvements that bring immersion to higher level. Many small but good things now added, such as:
-
Timing-based NPC actions: People do different things in morning than at night.
-
Weather reactions: If rains, people get angry or hide.
-
Dialogues improving: Shopkeepers and others now speaking more.
Also new wheel system lets players say some greetings or other choices like questioning or pressuring people, based on their character skills.
Free Thing for Everyone
What is surprising is, that this expansion is free. All players on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and PC can download without needing to purchase Phantom Liberty. It is really giving back to the fans who are still playing or planning to return.
With this update, Cyberpunk 2077 is becoming more closer to what people think it was. So now is again a good moment to visit the streets with full of light and now full of people too.
