Death Stranding 2: On The Beach – Release Date, Trailer & Collector’s Edition
Death Stranding 2 launches June 26, 2025! Check out the new SXSW trailer, Collector’s Edition details, gameplay changes, and platform availability.

After years of waiting, Death Stranding fans finally have something concrete—Hideo Kojima’s eerie and surreal sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, launches on June 26, 2025.
New Trailer Unveiled at SXSW
During the March 9 SXSW panel, Kojima and his team revealed an epic 10-minute cinematic trailer, showing off the game’s dark, haunting world. We saw:
- Returning characters like Norman Reedus (Sam Porter Bridges) and Lea Seydoux
- New mysterious faces joining the cast
- A more action-packed experience compared to the first game
While the sequel still embraces Death Stranding’s signature atmospheric and surreal storytelling, the gameplay footage hints at more intense combat sequences.
Collector’s Edition & Pre-Order Bonus
Kojima also announced a collector’s edition, which includes:
- A massive Magellan Man statue
- Exclusive in-game items (Machine Gun, etc.)
- Various collectibles
- Two days of early access (but, sadly, no physical disc)
Story & Platform Details
The sequel follows Sam Porter Bridges on another journey through a decaying world filled with even stranger creatures and characters. If you thought the first game was bizarre, DS2 is set to push the weirdness even further.
Platform:
For now, Death Stranding 2 is a PlayStation 5 exclusive, given Sony’s involvement. However, since the first game eventually landed on PC, it’s highly likely DS2 will follow suit later on.
Final Thoughts
With its June 26 release locked in, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is shaping up to be another wild, mind-bending adventure from Kojima. Whether you loved the first game or were baffled by it, this sequel looks ready to deliver something even stranger and more cinematic than before.
