Everything We Know So Far About Resident Evil: Survival Unit Mobile

Resident Evil Survival Unit is a new mobile-only game by Capcom, Aniplex, and JOYCITY. Full reveal set for July 10 with gameplay, system details, and more.

The Resident Evil franchise is going to do something different in a new mobile-only game called Resident Evil Survival Unit, which adds strategy to typical survival horror techniques. It was announced at Anime Expo 2025 and is being developed by Capcom, Aniplex, and JOYCITY. As opposed to action-oriented gameplay, players will need to consider planning and teamwork in this battle royale-like game.

Release Date & In-game Details

Capcom’s gonna do the first full reveal on July 10, 2025, at 3:00 PM PDT (10:00 PM UTC) on their YouTube channel. The event should include gameplay footage, details on how the game works, who’s in it, and maybe even info on beta tests or when it’ll be out.

With three big developers involved and the Resident Evil name on it, Survival Unit might end up doing something new for horror on phones. The style of gameplay seems like it’ll mix in more tactics and less fast-action stuff, which could be good for both older fans and newer players who use mobile more.

Built from the Ground Up for Mobile

This one isn’t a remake or a version of a console game. It’s being made from the beginning for phones. Not a lot of details are out yet, but some early talk makes it sound like it’ll have slower gameplay, more focused on planning, survival strategy, and managing a team. Not just running and shooting.

Capcom has already released RE4, 7, Village, and the RE2/RE3 remakes on iOS. But the Survival Unit is different. It is designed solely for mobile, and will have its mechanics and story set up purely for providing a more strategy-based horror experience for those who like to play on the go.

The way that Survival Unit is different is that it will not just try to port a console game to a phone. It is being developed with a mobile game in mind from the beginning, and it means that the controls, pacing, and design may fit the mobile platform better than parasitic ports mostly do. That can make Survival Unit something to experience, even if you generally do not play mobile games.
