Fortnite Leak Unveils Possible Reboot Card Purchase Feature

A new Fortnite leak suggests players may soon be able to buy reboot cards instead of collecting them, making revives easier than ever. Here’s what we know so far!

Reviving teammates in Fortnite has always been a key part of squad play, but it’s not always the easiest task. Between tracking down reboot cards and avoiding enemy ambushes at Reboot Vans, bringing back fallen friends can be risky business.

However, a new leak suggests Epic Games might be working on a way to make the reboot process much easier—and it could shake up battle royale matches in a big way.

Buying Reboot Cards Instead of Collecting Them

According to reliable leaker Loolo, Fortnite may soon allow players to buy reboot cards rather than picking them up from where their teammates were eliminated. Instead of risking a fight to retrieve a card, surviving players could simply purchase one with in-game gold—assuming they have enough saved up.

This change would make reviving teammates much less of a hassle, cutting down on situations where enemies camp reboot cards and take out unsuspecting players trying to revive their squad.

Already in Competitive by Mistake?

Interestingly, Loolo also mentioned that the feature is already available in competitive matches—but by mistake. Epic Games hasn’t officially announced anything, so it’s unclear if this was an accidental early rollout or a planned test run before adding it to the full game.

When Will This Feature Be Added?

Right now, there’s no confirmed release date for this potential update, and Epic Games has yet to comment on the leak. But if it does get added, it could make Fortnite matches last longer, as more players would be able to return to the battlefield more easily.

This leak comes just as Fortnite kicks off Chapter 6 Season 2, which brings a lawless theme, a Battle Pass featuring Midas, and even a crossover with Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero. If the reboot card change is implemented, it could add another big shake-up to the game’s evolving strategy.
