Fortnite x Squid Game Collaboration Officially Announced by Epic Games
Fortnite x Squid Game collaboration brings new challenges, tools, and exciting gameplay updates.

Following years of rumor and fan-made translations, an official alliance between Fortnite and Netflix's worldwide hit Squid Game is at last upon us. Although recreations of legendary games such as Red Light, Green Light and Glass Bridge have been a mainstay on Fortnite's Creative Mode for some time, Epic Games is now providing a completely approved experience—equipped with extra features and probable cosmetic crossover.
Release Date and Launch Context
The Fortnite x Squid Game collaboration is set to launch on June 27, 2025, in tandem with Chapter 6 Season 4, which releases a week earlier on June 7, 2025. This puts the crossover firmly in the middle of Fortnite's summer content cycle, indicating a major event intended to attract both competitive gamers and casual audiences of the popular Korean drama.
The news arrived during Sony's State of Play event, where it was revealed alongside other significant updates such as tools related to Avatar: The Last Airbender and Star Wars. The Squid Game collaboration was later confirmed by Epic Games through the official Fortnite X (Twitter) account.
New Tools for Creative Mode Builders
One of the main elements in the crossover is its integration of support for Fortnite's Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Epic has announced that creators will be able to get access to some new Squid Game-themed tools and publishing features later in summer 2025, allowing them to create more realistic, elimination-style minigames that match the series' high-stakes format.
Whereas Fortnite has featured several fan-made Squid Game experiences in the past, the new official toolkit should provide a much higher level of those efforts in terms of fidelity and gameplay options. This update sets the stage for very high-fidelity recreations and original creations inspired by Squid Game's deadly challenges.

Will Skins and Cosmetics Be Included?
While no individual cosmetic products have been officially announced, Fortnite's history of large-scale crossovers makes it likely that themed skins, emotes, and other cosmetics will be included. Since past collaborations with properties like The Walking Dead, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Fall Guys came with exclusive character models and accessories, Squid Game will likely receive the same.
With an IP like this so well-loved, viewers can probably expect cosmetics inspired by main Squid Game characters or series-defining items—maybe even the guards' masks, the players' uniforms, or themed back bling.
Gamers eager to experience this cross-over are already able to get a preview of what's in store by immersing themselves in community-made Squid Game-inspired maps already out there to be accessed through Fortnite's Creative Mode. But with the emergence of official support tools and vetted experiences later this summer, these community-created endeavors are likely to be surpassed by superior offerings.
