The Free Fire OB48 patch brings a wave of character reworks and balance adjustments aimed at refining gameplay dynamics. This update enhances existing abilities while addressing skill imbalances to ensure a more competitive and enjoyable experience.

Flame Mirage

Ignis now deploys an 18-meter-wide flame screen that moves forward at a speed of 6m/s for up to 55 meters. The screen lasts for 18 seconds, and players can stop its movement manually. Enemies or Gloo Walls touched by the screen receive an initial damage of 25 (or 488 for Gloo Walls) and take 5 (or 188 for Gloo Walls) damage per second for 25 seconds. The ability has a cooldown of 685 seconds.

Shield-Points-Related Skill Adjustments

The OB48 update addresses issues related to Shield Points (SP) stacking. While individual SP-based skills appeared balanced, combining them created overpowered survivability. Adjustments to characters like Xayne, Shani, Luqueta, and Antonio aim to mitigate this imbalance.

Xayne – Xtreme Encounter:

Upon activation, Xayne gains 58 temporary Shield Points for 12 seconds. Each enemy knockdown restores these points up to a maximum of 50 and resets the ability duration. Once the effect ends, all Shield Points are removed. Cooldown: 75 seconds.

Shani – Gear Recycle:

Using an active skill grants 38 Shield Points to Shani and teammates within 18 meters. These Shield Points decay after 5 seconds and can be regained once the cooldown ends. Cooldown: 185 seconds.

Luqueta – Hat Trick:

Each elimination permanently increases Luqueta’s max Shield Points by 25 (reduced from 28), up to a new cap of 48. This boost resets if the player is eliminated or the round ends.

Antonio – Gangster’s Spirit:

Antonio now gains 28 extra Shield Points at the start of each match (down from 38) and can recover Shield Points after surviving combat encounters.

Character Tweaks and Enhancements

Character Tweaks and Enhancements

Koda

Koda’s ability now offers increased utility for combat engagements. Movement speed during activation is boosted by 18%, and enemies behind cover within 58 meters are revealed every second for 18 seconds. The cooldown is reduced from 685 to 545 seconds. While parachuting, the skill reveals enemy locations within the player's field of view without sharing the information with teammates.

Wolfrahh

Wolfrahh’s skill remains offense-focused while reducing the defensive benefits. Each spectator reduces incoming headshot damage by 4% (previously 7%), capping at 12%. The headshot damage boost remains at 18%, with a maximum increase of 30%.

Lila

Lila’s ability now applies to both Assault Rifles and Marksman Rifles. Hitting enemies or vehicles with these weapons slows enemy movement by 18% and vehicle acceleration by 88% for 3 seconds. If a decelerated enemy is knocked down, they are frozen for up to 3 seconds, granting Lila an additional Gloo Wall.

Nikita

Nikita’s skill receives an upgrade to counter healing-focused characters. Her reload speed remains 30% faster, while the healing reduction applied to enemies increases from 38% to 50% for 18 seconds. This adjustment makes her more effective against high-healing opponents.
