HoYoverse has announced that Honkai: Star Rail will undergo scheduled maintenance on May 21, 2025, at 06:00 (UTC+8) as it transitions to Version 3.3, titled “The Fall at Dawn's Rise.” The update is expected to last approximately five hours, during which players will be unable to access the game. Following the maintenance, an update of the game client will be required to resume gameplay.
Due to the substantial size of the update, players are strongly encouraged to connect to Wi-Fi for the download or pre-installation process. The update introduces new in-game features and improvements, alongside adjustments aimed at optimizing the download and installation experience.
Pre-Installation Available on All Platforms
Pre-installation options are now available to help players streamline access once Version 3.3 goes live.
On PC, users can initiate the process through HoYoPlay by clicking the “Game Pre-Installation” icon next to the “Start Game” button. The game remains playable during the download.
On Android and iOS, the “Resource Pre-Download” option can be found on the login screen, though the game will not be playable while the resources are downloading.
On PlayStation® consoles, pre-installation begins automatically when the game is launched, provided there is sufficient available storage.
Storage Requirements and File Sizes
Players are advised to clear adequate storage space ahead of the update:
PC users should prepare around 19 GB of storage, with the pre-installation package estimated at 9.5 GB. Storage needs may vary if additional voice packs are installed.
Mobile users will require approximately 2.9 GB for the pre-installation, followed by a post-download file integration step that needs around 11.6 GB of free space.
Devices may download additional resources automatically if certain files fail to integrate properly.
Maintenance Compensation
To compensate for the downtime, eligible players—those at Trailblaze Level 4 or above before the maintenance begins—will receive 300 Stellar Jades via in-game mail. The compensation will be delivered within five hours after maintenance concludes and should be claimed before Version 3.3 ends.
