League of Legends: Wild Rift Patch 6.1b Introduces Garen Rework, Black Market Mayhem, and Widespread Balance Updates
Wild Rift Patch 6.1b: Garen rework, Black Market Mayhem, and key champion balance updates.

Riot Games has released Patch 6.1b for League of Legends: Wild Rift, marking the second set of balance updates in the 6.1 patch cycle. This update brings a major rework to the classic champion Garen, kicks off the Black Market Mayhem event with significant skin discounts, and rolls out a broad series of balance changes aimed at enhancing competitive play and overall game health.
Garen Reimagined: Strengthening His Fighter Identity
One of Wild Rift’s longstanding champions, Garen, receives a significant overhaul designed to transition him from a pure tank to a more versatile fighter. His Judgment ability now scales with level, increasing spins up to eleven and applying armor shred after multiple hits on enemy champions. Judgment also deals increased damage to the nearest opponent, encouraging sustained frontline engagement.
The Courage ability has been revamped to replace the old, less visible damage reduction with a shield that absorbs damage and offers a passive bonus to armor and magic resistance. This change aims to improve player feedback and help Garen better balance offense and defense. This revamped version of Garen will be available starting May 29.
Black Market Mayhem Event Offers Skins at Steep Discounts
Ahead of the traditional Black Friday period, Wild Rift players can enjoy the Black Market Mayhem event, running from May 23 to June 12 (00:01 UTC). During this event, skins will be available for purchase at discounts up to 80%, allowing players to expand their collections affordably.
