Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Skip & Replay Cutscenes in Game
Want to skip cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds? Learn how to quickly skip story cinematics and rewatch them later in the Gallery. Get platform-specific skip controls for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Every story mission in Monster Hunter Wilds comes with a cinematic cutscene to add more depth beyond the chatter you hear while riding your Seikret. But let’s be real—sometimes you just want to skip the story and jump straight into the action. Whether you’re rushing to High Rank grinding or just short on time, here’s how to skip cutscenes or rewatch them later.
How to Rewatch Old Cutscenes
Want to relive some epic moments? You can watch any cutscene you’ve already seen, but you’ll need to head back to the main menu first.
Steps to Rewatch Cutscenes:
- Save & exit your game. You can do this by selecting “Title Screen” in the menu or closing the game completely.
- After restarting, go to the main menu and select “Gallery” (it’s the second option from the top).
- Pick the save file you want to watch cutscenes from.
- Browse the list—there aren’t quest names attached, but each cutscene has a title and description to help you figure out which one to watch.
- Your character will show up exactly how they currently look—so if you’ve been rocking a goofy armor set, it’ll be in the cutscene too.
How to Skip Cutscenes Quickly
Sometimes you just want to get to the action—and that’s totally fine. You can pause or skip any cutscene you’re watching, whether it’s in-game or in the Gallery.
Skip Controls for Each Platform
PlayStation
- Pause - R3, Skip - Hold Touchpad
PC
- Pause - Control, Skip - Hold Tab
Xbox
- Pause - LT, Skip - Hold Share
Important Notes About Skipping:
- If there are back-to-back cutscenes, you’ll need to skip each one separately.
- If you skip too much, you might be a little lost when the fight starts—but don’t worry, you can always rewatch later in the Gallery.
