Monster Hunter Wilds: Post-Launch Roadmap, Free Updates, New Monsters & More
Monster Hunter Wilds is bringing free updates after launch, featuring new monsters like Mizutsune, event quests, and fresh cosmetics. See Capcom’s roadmap for 2025!

Capcom isn’t slowing down after Monster Hunter Wilds drops on February 28, 2025. They’ve mapped out a solid post-launch roadmap, packed with free updates, returning monsters, fresh content, and, of course, plenty of cosmetic DLC—because looking good while hunting is half the battle.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s coming after launch.
First Free Update – April 2025
What’s Coming:
- New Monster: Mizutsune
- New Gathering Space for post-story players
- Event Quests with unique rewards
- New Cosmetics
The elegant and slippery Mizutsune from Monster Hunter Generations is back, bringing its signature Bubbleblight and graceful yet deadly movements.
This update also introduces new event quests packed with unique rewards, along with minor balance changes and quality-of-life adjustments—though Capcom is keeping those details under wraps for now.
A new gathering space will also be added, giving players a hub to meet, chat, and share meals once they’ve completed the main story.
Second Free Update – Summer 2025
What’s Coming:
- New Mystery Monster (A returning favorite from past games)
- More Event Quests
- Even More Cosmetics
Capcom is keeping the new monster’s identity a secret for now, only teasing that it’s a returning beast from a previous game. Will it be a fan-favorite powerhouse, a deep-cut classic, or something that makes you regret your weapon choice? We’ll have to wait and see.
Expect more event quests and additional balance tweaks, plus another round of cosmetic DLC to keep hunters looking stylish while dodging deadly attacks.
We'll be releasing limited time Event Quests starting the week following release! Take on these quests to earn armor with special looks as rewards.

More Updates on the Horizon
Capcom has a strong track record of long-term post-launch support, and Monster Hunter Wilds looks to be no different. If past games are any indication, we can expect:
- More returning monsters to keep hunts fresh
- Event collaborations (think crossover quests with other franchises)
- Tougher hunts for those who want a real challenge
- More gear, weapons, and ridiculous fashion choices
With Monster Hunter Wilds launching on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, the hunt is just beginning. Stay sharp—there’s plenty more to come.
