Ninja Takes Over Blitz Royale as Fortnite Teases Superman’s Return and Super Showdown Event
Ninja takes over Blitz Royale, Superman returns, and Fortnite’s Super Showdown event kicks off an epic day of action on August 2.

August 2 is shaping up to be one of the most action-packed days in Fortnite history. Not only are we getting a live event, new season teasers, and the return of Superman, but Epic Games has also just dropped a bombshell: Ninja is officially taking over Blitz Royale!
Blitz Royale Just Leveled Up
If you’ve been grinding Blitz Royale, Fortnite’s fast-paced, loot-heavy mode, you’re probably already addicted to its chaotic energy. Well, it’s about to get a serious glow-up. Epic Games announced that Blitz Royale is now permanent, whihc means no more limited-time FOMO and to celebrate, they’re handing the keys to none other than Ninja, the blue-haired battle royale icon himself.
On August 2 at 4 PM ET, Blitz Royale becomes Ninja’s playground, complete with custom weapons, new rules, and two fresh game modes that are bound to shake up your squad’s strategies.

Here’s What Ninja’s Bringing to Blitz Royale
In a tweet that had fans losing their minds, Fortnite revealed that Ninja won’t just be dropping in for a cameo—he’s retooling Blitz Royale with some exclusive, over-the-top weapons:
- Blitz Boss Ninja’s Trash Launcher: Yep you're right, it literally launches trash at your enemies. Perfect for turning the battlefield into a mess, and for roasting your opponents mid-match.
- Blitz Boss Ninja’s Get Good Shotgun: This one hits hard and comes with some serious attitude. Expect close-range mayhem and plenty of rage quits.
- And let’s not forget: Ninja’s also getting a new skin variant to match the occasion.
Two New Game Modes: Six Stack and Pure Chaos
Ninja’s takeover also brings two brand-new Blitz Royale modes, and both are looking insane in the best possible way:
Six Stack
For the first time in Blitz Royale, you can roll with a six-player squad. That’s right, no more choosing between your five best Fortnite buddies, but now you can all jump in, loot up, and cause absolute chaos together.
Pure Chaos
If you're looking for something a bit more sweaty, Pure Chaos is where it’s at. With increased siphon and tougher opponents, it’s made for players who want a challenge, or who just want to flex on the lobby.
Both modes go live on August 2 at 3 PM ET, right before Ninja’s big takeover.
The Super Showdown Live Event
If Ninja’s Blitz Royale bash wasn’t enough, Fortnite is also hosting its Super Showdown live event earlier that day, which is kicking off at 2:30 PM ET. The event promises to wrap up Chapter 6 Season 3 and set the stage for Season 4, and Epic has teased that Superman is making a comeback.
Word on the street is that James Gunn’s Peacemaker is also heading to the game, and with Super Showdown, Blitz Royale, and a Ninja collab all happening in one afternoon, which means that all Fortnite players are in for a marathon of content.
