PUBG Mobile Bans Over 315,000 Accounts in Latest Crackdown on Cheating

PUBG Mobile bans 315,000+ accounts in latest weekly anti-cheat enforcement report.

In a further bid to protect competitive integrity, PUBG Mobile has released its most recent weekly anti-cheat enforcement report, detailing a robust clampdown on players who have been involved in illegitimate gameplay. During the period from April 25 to May 1, a record number of 315,940 accounts were permanently banned, with 11,344 device bans as well—a step demonstrating the game's unambiguous opposition to rule infractions.

The report also indicates a wider push to tear down the cheating ecosystem. During Week 19 of their anti-cheat campaign, PUBG Mobile's team was able to eliminate 1,113 online cheat advertisement campaigns. The ads had gathered a combined viewership and follower base of over 5.8 million. This is proof of the extent to which cheating software spreads across the gaming populace. The move is one part of an aggressive plan to take down the consumption and dissemination of unauthorized software.

A breakdown of the cheating techniques detected showed that 69% of the cheats were detected using third-party programs to cheat at gameplay. Other hacks detected were Auto Aim (19%), X-Ray Vision (6%), Area Damage Modification (4%), and Speed Hacks (2%). This breakdown enables the game developers to gain a clearer picture of changing cheat trends and improve their detection systems in response.

The banned player's demographic makeup also reveals some important observations. The largest proportion—60%—was at the Bronze level, which might indicate that newcomer or inexperienced members are often seduced by short cuts. High-ranking accounts, however, weren't spared either: 14% of the bans were at the Ace tier, and bans at Platinum (6%), Diamond (3%), Silver (7%), Crown (2%), and even Conqueror (2%) tiers did occur as well. This trans-tier enforcement attests to cheating as being omnipresent at every skill level of the community.

PUBG Mobile has again encouraged players to report suspicious activity and unauthorized cheat promotions via its official support portal. Developers reiterated that ongoing collaboration between players and the anti-cheat team is critical to having a fair and enjoyable experience.
