Fortnite has teamed up with all sorts of famous faces over the years, from movie characters to musicians and streamers. Now, in an unexpected but exciting twist, they’re bringing MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani into the game with his own set of skins!
Not only are we getting a second wave of Invincible skins, but Epic Games has also revealed this brand-new collaboration with the Los Angeles Dodgers’ two-way phenom. Ohtani’s arrival in Fortnite includes two unique outfits, and one of them can even be unlocked early! Here’s everything you need to know.
When Are the Shohei Ohtani Skins Dropping?
Mark your calendars—March 17, 2025, at 8 PM ET is when all Shohei Ohtani skins officially land in the Fortnite Item Shop. But that’s not all!
Starting March 18, 2025, players can take on special Shohei Ohtani Quests to earn extra XP. The good news? These quests will be around until the end of Chapter 6, Season 2, so there’s plenty of time to complete them.

Shohei Ohtani isn’t just getting one skin—he’s getting two totally different styles.
Dodgers Uniform Shohei Ohtani
This version has him repping the Los Angeles Dodgers with his number 17 jersey. There are also home and away versions of the uniform to switch things up.

Samurai Shohei Ohtani
If baseball isn’t your thing, the Samurai Shohei Outfit brings a whole different vibe. This suit is reactive, meaning it comes with a fiery effect on his pitching arm every time you get an elimination.

For players who can’t wait until March 17, there’s a way to unlock the Samurai Shohei skin early—for free!
On March 16, 2025, Epic Games is hosting the Shohei Ohtani Cup, where top-performing players in each region can earn the skin before it officially hits the Item Shop.
The tournament is a Solos competition with a point-based system:
- Each elimination = 2 points
- Match placement also counts, with 60 points for a Victory Royale
