The indie game studio Byteparrot has revealed their snowboarding-racing-combat Slopecrashers, which is coming soon on consoles on August 7, 2025. It was already available on PC in Early Access, and now it arrives for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. In this game, snowboarding is not just racing—it has action with weapons, and also animals are there as playable characters.
Racing in Snow but with Weapons and Colors
Not being the usual type of snowboarding game, Slopecrashers combines elements from extreme sport games and fighting kart games. There are animal characters like penguins or crocodiles; they are not realistic but more like cartoons. And each is having their animations or attitude. Weapons like snowball launchers and boxing gloves are also usable while racing fast on downhill tracks.
It is important to race faster, but also knocking others out is part of the strategy. Tricks give a boost, and the timing of attacks can help win. The environments are changing—from mountain snow to even rooftops in cities. This makes the gameplay always different than the last one.
A major highlight of the Slopecrashers game is that it can be played with other people, both local and online. There is split-screen for up to four players on the same screen, and also full online matches are there.
Developers of the game say they made it easy to understand for all kinds of players, even those who do not usually play racing games. There are many modes to select, such as elimination battles, trick scoring, and normal race style.
Launching Soon with Updates in the Future
When it releases on August 7, the game is to have all updates that were on the PC version. For consoles, it is said to be optimized. On Nintendo Switch, it will run in both handheld and docked modes, with 60 FPS mentioned. Xbox and PlayStation will get better graphics versions.
Developers also mentioned that more content is planned later, like holiday events, new characters, and race maps. This game may attract players who enjoy racing, sports, and a bit of combat in games.
Slopecrashers arrives digitally for consoles through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace, and Nintendo eShop on August 7, 2025.
