Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Developer Announces Compensation Following Launch Issues
As an apology and as an appreciation for players' patience, Leenzee Games has promised compensation for all purchasers of 'Wuchang: Fallen Feathers' on Steam.

Recent news regarding the release of "Wuchang: Fallen Feathers" on Steam has brought in a slew of "mostly negative" reviews as a result of performance-related technical problems that had arguably become somewhat commonplace in the Pre-Release PC Era. The reported performance issues include widespread stuttering, low frame rates, and unexpected crashing, even on high-end PC systems. Those faced with these technical issues often weren't even trying to make a performance or enjoyment-related statement; they simply weren't having the opportunity to experience the game as the developers had intended. While frustration towards the experiences many players had with the game is completely warranted, the performance problems also created a problematic launch period for a game that had received anticipation amongst fans of the genre.
In addition to performance issues, players had to deal with bugs in the game related to content - these included a formal distribution of pre-order items and oddities in regional pricing that contributed to a negative player experience. The developers, Leenzee and publisher, 505 Games, were responsive to these critical issues, and they took the step of issuing a public apology. In the public apology, they felt the need to come out and say that these issues should "never have happened," and they regretted any "disruption" these events may have caused for their player base.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Compensation Details
As an apology and as an appreciation for players' patience, Leenzee Games has promised compensation for all purchasers of "Wuchang: Fallen Feathers" on Steam. Everyone who has a copy of the game will get a free digital version of the original soundtrack. People who had purchased the soundtrack separately will also receive refunds for that separately purchased soundtrack, because they noted that there was a discrepancy in pricing.
Separately from the soundtrack, more compensation has been promised. All owners of the Standard Edition on all platforms will receive three bonus headgear items. Owners of the Deluxe Edition will receive even more compensation: three additional sets of deluxe costumes, four new weapons, in addition to the exclusive costume they have already been promised. The developers are reassuring players that they are improving the game and are still working on optimizations and fixes, and that they are taking feedback from the community and doing so step-by-step, and that they plan on meeting everyone's expectations in the next patches.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Patch 1.3
Following the overwhelming negative response from players, Leenzee's development team reacted quickly, releasing Patch 1.3 only hours after the game's release date of July 24, 2025. The team wanted to put out the fires caused by painful experiences. Patch 1.3 included key performance optimizations, such as making "Low Latency Mode" a manual toggle instead of a default setting, and changing technology limits for supersampling resolution for specific graphics cards to prevent them from affecting performance.
Patch 1.3 also focuses on VRAM optimization for GPUs with >=8GB VRAM configurations, with memory-saving optimizations across all texture quality settings. The more powerful GPUs, which now have this optimization when the texture quality is set to low. Patch 1.3 also fixed immediate game crashes on startup, fixed stutter during the finisher animations, and remedied the issue with how Standard and Deluxe Editions were distributed, and gave both groups of players their content.
