Wuthering Waves Introduces New Character Cartethyia in Version 2.4
Cartethyia, the enigmatic figure once known as Fleurdelys, is set to join *Wuthering Waves* as a playable character in Version 2.4.

Kuro has confirmed Cartethyia will now be a playable character in the upcoming Wuthering Waves version 2.4 update, expanding the lore and characters of the game. As with other characters, she contains rich thoughts and feelings which expand the emotional and psychological depth of Wuthering Waves. Initially she was known as Fleurdelys, Cartethyia was regarded as the “Blessed Maiden” and the expected savior of Rinascita. Her astonishing appearance during Act 3 of the main story was striking and has spurred a lot of curiosity about her character and story.
Character Background
In the previous version, she was only a thematic character but in this latest one, Kuro Games has decided to narratively shift her into a more powerful form of a boss. This was shown in version 2.2 where she was released as a weekly boss. Even more so, Cartethyia suffered an even darker personality transformation. A notable one was her forehead spotted with horns, fingers turned blue, and chains laced with thorns around her body signifying her struggle and corrupted self. The battle with the head boss featured her fierce style of combat while flying, giving players one of the hardest battles in the game till now.
Expected Character Abilities
Based on trustworthy leaks and intel from within the community, it looks like Cartethyia will be transformed into a 5-star Aero Resonator character with a sword in version 2.4. Her progression from a villain to a hero suggests a thoroughly told tale of redemption which will likely unfold in more depth in upcoming quests and updates. This intricacy is in alignment with Kuro Games’ known reputation of multifacted character development and storytelling mastery.
In addition, version 2.4 is rumored to add five-star character Lupa, who will have Fusion attributes and use a Broadblade, as well as some character banners back in circulation for popular characters Carlotta and Changli which would be a treat for new and veteran players alike.
The addition of Cartethyia as a playable character is a testament to the development of Wuthering Waves as an action RPG. With the official release still pending, there is a great deal of hope toward unveiling more about her character in the context of the larger scope of the narrative.
