BGMI tops the list of 'Top Free Games" on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store

The comeback of BGMI has proven to be a major success for Krafton. Just after two days of the game's relaunch, BGMI has grabbed the #1 position in the Top Free Games category on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

The return of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has proven to be a major success for the South Korean publisher Krafton. BGMI within two days of its relaunch, has grabbed the first position in the Top Free Games category on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The hype around Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has always been higher considering its success before the ban. The game is loved by the masses and is a major reason behind the growth of mobile esports in India. 

Battlegrounds Mobile India made its way to the Google Play Store on May 27 and was available for preload for existing users. While for iOS users, the game became downloadable from May 29 with servers getting opened on the same day. It took only two days for BGMI to top hit the top charts in both estores. The game has been the talk of the town with major streamers and esports players streaming it live on their respective YouTube channels.

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was initially launched in 2021 following the ban on PUBG Mobile in September 2020. The game garnered millions of downloads which made it an instant hit.  With the relaunch of Battlegrounds Mobile India, the upcoming days and months are expected to be exciting for the Indian gaming community. On May 19, Krafton teased the return of Battlegrounds Mobile India with a post on its official Instagram handle. The South Korean company also thanked the Indian government for allowing them to resume BGMI's operations in the country. The company took around 10 months to resolve the issues and bring back the game to India. However, the game would be closely monitored by the Indian government during the first 90 days to ensure whether it is abiding by the law of the land or not.
