Interested players can head to the corresponding store to purchase the game and start downloading it. Before the launch, the company held an open-access beta program for everyone who had pre-ordered the game. Now with the launch, the company has also shared details about the Day 1 patch for the game. We already know the details about the hardware requirements of the game. Let’s check out the details around the Day 1 patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War here.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Day 1 patch, details
The game developer Treyarch shared a dedicated post outlining the changes that come in the Day 1 patch. This will provide open-access beta testers, a clear picture of what has changed. It is worth noting that everyone who has pre-loaded the game will get this large update on the first day. The highlight of the Call of Duty: Black Ops cold War is likely the nerfed sliding in the game. For some context, earlier, the open-access beta program of the game featured an overpowered slide. The Day 1 patch reduces the distance and the speed of the slide. This tweak will ensure that the slide is used more as an escape maneuver instead of an offensive one.
Other changes include increased in-game mantling speed and reduced knife sprinting speed. Looking at the patch notes, the developer has also added a number of new weapons to the Black Ops Cold War. The new weapons include FFAR 1 assault rifle, M60 light-machine gun, Bullfrog sub-machine gun, DMR 14 tactical rifle, and more.
One can check all the changes that the Day 1 patch includes in the official announcement post. Moving on, players can also see additional attachment options in the gunsmith section of the game. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also features the ability to dual-wield pistols (two pistols at the same time). Beyond this, the game also comes with more score-streaks, finishing move support, the ability to call for help, and more.
