Final Fantasy XVI: 1.31 version patch notes and fixes

The latest patch for Final Fantasy XVI brings a host of exciting updates and enhancements to the game. Players can look forward to more opportunities to interact with Torgal, with increased patting options available. Combat and Eikon abilities have been fine-tuned for improved gameplay experiences, and accessory enhancements add an extra layer of customization to characters.

In addition to these substantial changes, the patch introduces various bug fixes and quest improvements to ensure smoother progression throughout Valisthea. Players can also anticipate the arrival of new NPCs, expanded cutscenes—such as Clive's pivotal moment of removing his Bearer's mark—and a plethora of additional content to enrich the world of Final Fantasy XVI.

In the latest update, players will find new Orchestrion rolls conveniently stocked in regional shops. The availability of these rolls will be tied to the progression of the main scenario, offering players a musical treat as they journey through the game.

Additionally, battle adjustments have been implemented to enhance gameplay dynamics. Players can expect increased player attacks in battles outside of specific Eikon encounters, providing a more balanced and engaging combat experience. Moreover, quality-of-life improvements have been made to the user interface during select Eikon battles, ensuring smoother and more intuitive gameplay interactions.

In Ramuh's Eikonic Feat, Blind Justice, players will now witness the firing of two instances of ball lightning when executed. Moreover, ball lightning attached to enemies can now be detonated using the feat button instead of traditional attacks. Additionally, Clive's movements during Blind Justice have been enhanced, allowing for increased speed and the ability to dodge while executing the feat. Furthermore, Clive will experience faster poise recovery after executing Blind Justice.

For Bahamut's Eikonic Feat, Wings of Light, players will now only deplete the Megaflare charge upon reaching the next gauge level when canceling the feat. A dodge action will be automatically initiated at the beginning of Wings of Light, and successfully dodging an enemy attack will trigger a Megaflare Dodge.

With Odin's Eikonic Feat, Arm of Darkness, the Parry animation has been updated for improved visual clarity. Additionally, the height requirement for initiating the Stomp action has been lowered, allowing for more fluid and seamless gameplay.

Clive's orientation post-Swift Recovery has undergone a modification, altering the direction he's facing after executing the move. Limit Break attacks have been adjusted to lift enemies instead of pushing them back, similar to Flare Breath. The damage inflicted by Gouge has been boosted, along with a reduction in its recast time. Aerial Blast now has the capability to dispel certain ranged magic attacks and has received an increase in damage. Additionally, its windup area of effect has been expanded. Earthen Fury's cooldown time has been reduced for quicker access to the ability. And finally; Flare Breath, like Aerial Blast, can now dispel specific ranged magic attacks.

Fixed a rare issue where Clive would jump when interacting with objects under specific conditions. Adjusted the timing and frequency of petting Torgal. Refined the calculations for damage taken when near death. Quests:

  • Added a "Quick Complete" function, enabling players to warp directly to a quest-giver upon completing a quest's final objective.
  • Assigned a new quest icon to quests that reward collectibles.
  • Increased Ability Point rewards for certain sidequests.

Introduced a "Custom" controller type, allowing players to freely assign functionality to controller buttons in the System tab of the Main Menu under Controller Layout. Implemented Skill Sets, enabling players to save up to five skill sets and switch between them using Left One and Right One buttons. Enhanced functionality in Photo Mode, including adjustable Focal Distance in Depth of Field setting, Tone Correction, Screen Effects, Portrait Mode, and 90-degree rotation in Roll functionality.
