High on Life, by Squanch Games has been a major hit with players all around the world due to its blend of classic shooting, light RPG mechanics, and of course crazy humour.

High on Life’s launch on the Xbox Game Pass has set three records on the video subscription service despite releasing just ten days ago on December 12. Rick & Morty creator Justin Roiland’s game is now the biggest 3rd party game launch in Game Pass history. Not only that, but it is also the biggest Game Pass release of 2022.

High on Life broke the record for the largest single-player game launch on Game Pass, according to Microsoft. This is based on the number of hours played in the game's first five days of availability.

The new record-breaker shooter adventure game

High on Life, by Squanch Games has been a major hit with players all around the world due to its blend of classic shooting, light RPG mechanics, and of course crazy humour. Squanch Games has been able to find a much broader audience, thanks to the Game Pass.

High on Life is a first-person shooter adventure game in which an alien cartel finds that humans can be used as drugs and launches an invasion on Earth. This leads an ordinary teenager to become involved in a cosmic conflict, leaving the teen no option but to join the bounty hunter community and eliminate the cartel as a whole.

Squanch Games’ new game has surpassed other games like FIFA 22, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Minecraft, Rainbow Six Seige, Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite on console and PC. On Steam, High on Life is the third best-selling game.

In a recent podcast interview, co-creator Justin Roiland discussed how much there is to discover along the road and a lot more to uncover a treasure of profoundly hidden details and secrets. The team has also prioritised voices, animations, and features that reflect player preferences.

“This was our first time launching a game with Game Pass,” said Mike Fridley, Studio Director, and Chief Operating Officer of Squanch Games. “And we’ve been blown away by the response from the players who have made us the most popular game on Game Pass right now. When Squanch Games was first created, it was to make the games we wanted to play – and Game Pass is helping us reach the players that want to play those games too.”

The game is a part of the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass and is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows.
