PlayStation Productions' upcoming The Last of Us TV show reveals first trailer on HBO

HBO Max has just revealed the first trailer for the upcoming show based on the popular video game series, The Last of Us, from Sony PlayStation. Here's where you can find all the latest details including the latest trailers, and more.

HBO has just released the first trailer of its upcoming TV series, The Last of Us. After teasing the show with a short 20 seconds sneak peak, a month later we received a two-minute-long trailer. That’s not all, the launch window of the show has also been announced. So read on for all the latest details on The Last of US TV Show, along with the two trailers, and more.

The Last of Us show for HBO- Trailers, cast and other details 

The Last of US TV show for HBO Max is based on the popular video game series of the same name from PlayStation. Reports suggest that the show will be covering the events from the first game- The Last of US Part I, which launched back in 2013. There will be 10 episodes, and might also include bits from The Last of Us Part II (2020) as well. In the latest update, HBO revealed that the game is coming in 2023. No specific date has yet been confirmed.

Game of Thrones stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will be portraying the leads Joel and Ellie respectively. Pedro Pascal is also known for many hit productions like The Mandalorian and Narcos. The TLOU show will also have Nico Parker from Dumbo (2019), and Gabriel Luna from Agents of Shield portraying Sarah and Tommy. Creative Directors of the games, Neill Druckmann and Craig Mazin are working as Executive Producers for the series.

The Last of Us TV show for HBO Max, is the first adaptation for television that PlayStation Productions is creating. For context, PlayStation Productions was founded to create adaptations for film and television, of PlayStation’s original game IPs. Recent launches include Uncharted from earlier this year. Other adaptations known to be in development include Twisted Metal for TV, a Gran Turismo movie, and a live-action for God of War. 

Naughty Dog celebrates 'The Last of Us Day' 

In other news, Naughty Dog is celebrating “The Last of Us” day. September 26 is considered TLOU Day as it was the day of the virus outbreak in the game. On the occasion, as a part of an International Celebration, franchise developers Naughty Dog released a set of GIFs featuring characters from the game.
