PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 22.2 patch notes released; update coming tomorrow for PC

PUBG update 22.2 will be released for PC tomorrow March 15. The update includes several new additions to the game including the new weapon FAMAS. Several bug fixes and improvements are also being made in the game in the update 22.2. Additionally, PUBG Battlegrounds will also be celebrating its 6th Year Anniversary this year. PUBG Battleground’s new update will launch by the end of this month for consoles on March 23, 2023.

Krafton has enlisted the patch notes for update 22.2 on the PUBG Battlegrounds website.

New Weapon 

A new weapon, FAMAS is coming to the battle royale game, that too on all the maps. It is a French-made assault rifle with a high firing rate. It has three fire modes - single, burst, and full-auto. FAMAS is a quite deadly weapon, causing 39 damage in each shot, with a firing rate of 900 RPM.

It will be available in all the Normal Matches, Ranked Mode, Training Mode, Team Deathmatch, Custom Matches, and Sandbox Mode (PC). 

Weapon Balance

• AUG: It has been removed from Care Packages and will now be a world-spawn weapon.
  Additionally, it will be available on every map. Also, the weapon's recoil has been slightly increased.
  • Damage: 42 - 41
  • Firing Rate - 700 - 750
  • Bullet Velocity - 940 m/s - 890 m/s
  • Effective Range - 90 to 500 - 60 to 450
     
• M416: Horizontal recoil has been slightly increased 
  • Damage - 41 - 40 
     
• M16A4 and MK 47 Mutant: Single/Burst RPM - 600 - 800
   
• Shotguns (S686, DBS, S12K, S1897): Spawn rate in normal matches has reduced by approximately 30%.
  • Spawn rate in Ranked matches has reduced by approximately 20%.
  • Spawn rates for ARs, DMRs, and SMGs have slightly increased.
     
• P90: It has been added to Care Packages and Secret Rooms in Ranked Mode.
  Other than that, a minimum of 200 ammunition will spawn together with the P90.

Loot Recommendation Changes 

The loot recommendation feature will highlight lootable weapon. Other than that, the inventory will also highlight recommended ammo/attachments/equipment that the player has looted.

Additions in the World

Hills have been added in the valley between Barclift and Turrita in Deston to block the sightlines. 
A dirt race track has been added on the peninsula south of Sancarna to block sightlines.

Modes

• AUG - Added to Team Deathmatch and Custom Matches, and removed from Esports Mode.
• Mk12 and ACE32 - Added to Esports Mode

UX/UI

The new UI will show essential details including Damage per Bullet, Rate of Fire, and much more. Furthermore, the UI for displaying a weapon’s category and required ammunition type has also been improved.

Lobby (Tier System)

A tier system has been added to Survival Mastery. Players who level up beyond 500 will receive new rewards. The maximum tier that the players can reach is 5. 

New Rewards 

Players will now get Supply Loot Cache per level up instead of BP, and a Survival Mastery Medal every time a player reaches a new Tier.

New Items in the Workshop

Hunter’s Chest and Archivist’s Chest:

• Survivor Pass: Deston
• Bunny Academy
• PCS7
• Burning Chicken Festival

Other than that, Two new item sets have been added to Special Crafting.
