Riot Games, the company behind the free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) Valorant has just shared new information about the game. As per the announcement, the company confirmed some details around the upcoming Act 3. In addition, the company also confirmed that the first official Valorant tournament is taking place in November. According to the information, the company will kick-off open qualifiers for “Valorant First Strike: Europe” from November 9, 2020. This round will go on till November 22 where the top eight teams will to the tournament. The actual tournament will kick off in December. Valorant Act 3 and official tournament details

Before we talk about Act 3, let’s talk about the rest of the details around the First Strike: Europe tournament. According to the information available on the Valorant website, the proper tournament will start on December 3, 2020. Riot Games has decided to follow the “best-of-three” format while switching things to “best-of-five” for the finals. To take part in the tournament, players need to be at least 16 years of age with an “Immortal 1” rank. The company will share the rest of the rules for the tournament in the coming weeks. As per the announcement, the company also shared the format for the tournament on its website. Now, let’s talk about the information around Valorant Act 3. First up, the company shared a new map called Icebox. It also shared a 45-second video outlining how the map looks like. At the same time, the company stated that it will be delaying the release of its upcoming agent by two weeks. This means that the Riot Games will release the upcoming agent with the first patch.

The company outlined the rationale around this decision noting improved stability in upcoming patches. This new update will also feature 50-tiers of new in-game items as part of the Battle Pass. Riot Games also noted that Icebox will offer “frequent skirmishes, sharp aim, and adaptive play”. Beyond this, the company has also reduced the Rank queue from 6 tiers to 3 tiers for better matchmaking. Players can also select their preferred server for better pings, new Singularity skin as part of the Singularity bundle, and new servers in the Middle East and North Africa.
