Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye Set for Limited U.K. and Ireland Theatrical Run in June

Anime Limited have announced that Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye, a theatrical compendium of the opening episodes of Dan Da Dan Season 2, will be playing in select theaters nationwide in the United Kingdom and Ireland from June 6, 2025. A weekend of limited screenings, more information on cinemas and ticket purchases will be released through the film's official website.

The film includes the first three episodes of the upcoming season of the anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu's manga, which combines paranormal action, comedy, and romance. The second season premieres on television in Japan on July 3, with broadcasting on MBS and TBS within the "Super Animeism Turbo" block. The show also will be streaming on Crunchyroll.

Science SARU Returns With Fan-Favorite Cast and Crew

Fūga Yamashiro and Abel Góngora, who worked on the first season, are returning for the second season. Science SARU is still the animation studio of the project. Mutsumi Tamura returns in her role as Evil Eye (Jashi), with the rest of the original cast.

The initial season aired in Japan in October 2024 and was released worldwide on Netflix and Crunchyroll. The 12-episode show gained popularity for its mix of dark supernatural moments and absurd humor.

Main staff on the production include director Fūga Yamashiro (Tatami Time Machine Blues), writer Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen), music composer kensuke ushio, and character designer Naoyuki Onda. Yoshimichi Kameda was responsible for alien and spirit design. Creepy Nuts did the opening theme, with ZUTOMAYO handling the ending theme.

Teen Paranormal Adventure Continues

Dan Da Dan tracks the life of Momo, a high school student whose family has a tradition of spirit mediums, and Okarun, her classmate who is obsessed with aliens. Their unusual friendship blossoms into something more after each of them individually meets overwhelming supernatural forces—one ghostly, one extraterrestrial. As both acquire strange new abilities, they become embroiled in a maelstrom of peril, intrigue, and emerging romance.

The series is adapted from the manga published on Shonen Jump+ and translated into English through Viz Media and MANGA Plus.
