DAN DA DAN makes U.S. TV debut on Toonami, joining top anime titles in late-night programming.
DAN DA DAN is finally premiering on Toonami, whose show airs in the evening on Adult Swim. They say it's on July 26 at 12:30 AM EDT, but it's early on July 27 if you look at the time properly. This one will be the first TV airing of this anime on U.S. soil, with no regard for whatever is available online.
Though that second season does already exist on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Netflix for those in America to watch. But now it's also going to television for those who don't stream as much. Some Nielsen reports suggest that between September 2024 and April 2025, DAN DA DAN was way up there, 58 out of 100 in show views among viewers aged 18-49. They say almost 2.6 million individuals watched it.
Toonami to Promote DAN DA DAN in the USA
With this addition, the Toonami lineup is getting more and fuller. Soon after DAN DA DAN's episode, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is also on the horizon, like 30 minutes afterward. That one isn't coming back until 2026, but they did unveil a new image for it at Anime Expo, so it still keeps people talking.
Before that, Dragon Ball DAIMA also debuted on Toonami way back on June 14, so the network is going fast with anime that already has hype. They're hyping themselves up here by bringing in all these popular shows.
Insane Combination of Ghosts and Space Creatures
The anime is a manga developed by Yukinobu Tatsu, originally published on Shonen Jump+ in Japan. It is readable in English under the VIZ Media license, on the Shonen Jump app, or Manga PLUS, too.
The story centers on a girl named Momo from a family blessed with spirit powers and a boy named Okarun, who is her friend and does not believe in spirits but in aliens only. They argue about it, but then learn that both of them exist. Then they both acquire supernatural powers and are compelled to battle monsters and other creatures from other worlds.
