Golden Kamuy OVA Brings New Characters and Voices Before October

Golden Kamuy OVA adds new cast and episodes, releasing with a spin-off novel in October 2025.
Now Golden Kamuy anime will release a new OVA in Japan this October. It will be accompanied by the first side novel, which is a limited edition. Already, a trailer has been dropped, featuring the first scenes from The Lightning Thief and Viper Ogin's story, and also a short one named Shimaenaga. This OVA introduces approximately 30 minutes of new anime.
In that trailer, they also announced who does the voices for the three new individuals. These are two fan favorite characters and even a bird voice.
Noted Voice Actors Do the Voices This Time in Golden Kamuy OVA
From the video, the new cast is now set:

Keiichiro Sakamoto, voiced by Koichi Yamadera (who did Ryoji Kaji in Evangelion)

Ogin voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi (also from Evangelion as Misato)

Shimaenaga bird voice by Ikue Otani (famous for Pikachu in Pokémon)
This OVA was directed by Shizutaka Sugahara, who also directed the fourth season. Same studio, Brain's Base, makes this one too.
Series Still Continues With Side Stories Before Final Season
The release of OVA is just before the last season, which was announced following Season 4 in 2023. While Crunchyroll continues to stream all previous seasons, this new installment is only coming in Japan at the moment, within that special edition of the novel.
The Golden Kamuy is set in the Meiji era in Hokkaido. It's about soldier Sugimoto, referred to as "Immortal Sugimoto", who is in urgent need of money for personal reasons. He learns about treasure and begins searching for it. The hints are tattoos on escaped convicts.
He subsequently encounters a girl, A sirpa, who is of the Ainu people. They both encounter cold nature, peculiar adversaries, and others in their quest for gold. The new OVA depicts more events and provides screen time to various characters as well.
With a combination of ancient history, survival in the wild, and some comedy, Golden Kamuy continues to grow even bigger. With a new cast and additional stories now, fans have something more to anticipate in October.
