Season Premiere and Production Details
The highly anticipated second season of Grand Blue Dreaming is set to premiere on July 7, 2025, following a long gap since the first season aired in 2018. Shonan no Kaze, who performed the original opening theme “Grand Blue,” will return to perform the new theme song “Seishun Toha” with ATARASHII GAKKO!.
Director Shinji Takamatsu (Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto) returns to lead the second season, produced by animation studios Zero-G and Liber. Hideoki Kusama is back as character designer and chief animation director. Music will again be composed by Yukari Hashimoto (Senpai is an Otokonoko), maintaining continuity in tone and style.
A Dive into Youthful Mayhem
The anime is about Iori Kitahara, a college freshman who moves to a town by the sea. He hopes to start fresh, meet girls, and enjoy college life. However, his new living situation at his uncle’s diving shop pulls him into the rowdy world of the university diving club. Instead of relaxing dives and quiet beaches, Iori deals with wild parties, new friends, and funny trouble.
Kodansha USA releases the English version of the manga. Fans enjoy it for its mix of humor and growing-up themes.
