Kaiju No. 8 movie hits PH cinemas June 11 with bonus episode and new ending theme.

Medialink has officially announced that Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon will hit theaters in the Philippines on June 11, 2025. The film will be shown exclusively at Robinsons Movieworld and serves as a recap of the anime’s first season. Fans will also enjoy a new bonus episode titled Hoshina’s Day Off and an original ending theme, Invincible by OneRepublic. Ticket details are expected to be released soon.

This special movie gives viewers a chance to relive Kafka Hibino’s journey in a world overrun by Kaiju—giant creatures that threaten human life. Kafka once dreamed of fighting Kaiju alongside his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro, but life took them down different paths. While Mina is now the captain of the Defense Force’s 3rd Division, Kafka works at Monster Sweeper Inc., a company that cleans up after Kaiju battles.

Kafka’s life begins to shift when he meets Reno Ichikawa, a young man with a strong desire to join the Defense Force. Inspired by Reno’s drive, Kafka rediscovers his own ambition to fight and protect humanity. Just as he reignites his dream, a new Kaiju threat looms closer than he realizes.

Bonus Episode Offers a Light-Hearted Break

Hoshina’s Day Off Adds Humor and Depth to the Story

Included in the film is Hoshina’s Day Off, a short episode that explores a rare quiet day for the Defense Force. Reno, unsure of how to spend his free time, notices Hoshina acting strangely and decides to follow him. Joined by Iharu, the day takes an unexpected turn as their mission leads to unexpected revelations and laughs.
