KAMITSUBAKI City Under Construction Anime Drops New Trailer Before July Debut

The anime KAMITSUBAKI City Under Construction just put out the second main trailer before it begins airing on July 3, 2025. This new trailer also shows the opening theme called “Utahime,” which is sung by the digital artist group V.W.P. (Virtual Witch Phenomenon). The same members are also voicing their characters in the show.

Also announced, Hikaru Midorikawa is joining the voice cast. He plays a mysterious character, but not much detail is given yet.

Original Series Created by KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO

The anime is a new original work made by KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, a group known mostly for online creative content, especially on YouTube. This anime was first announced back in January 2025. The first trailer and image visual were shown at AnimeJapan 2025, during the White Stage presentation.

Animation is done by Studio SMDE. The main cast includes all five V.W.P. members—KAF, RIM, Harusaruhi, Isekaijoucho, and KOKO—each of them giving voice to characters inspired by their digital versions.

Theater Preview and Main Production Staff

More voice actors joining the show include Ayane Sakura, Miyu Tomita, Yohei Azakami, Shuichiro Umeda, Mai Todo, and Shizuka Ito. All of them will support the main cast and add more characters to the story.

The creative staff includes Soki Tsukishima, who is doing world-building and writing the original idea. Kodai Kakimoto is directing and also managing the series composition. Character designs are drawn by PALOW, who keeps the style of KAMITSUBAKI’s earlier visuals.

Before the TV release, a special theater version of the anime started showing. It’s called KAMITSUBAKI City Under Construction: Witch’s Daughter -Witchling- and it began running in Japanese theaters for two weeks from June 13, 2025.

This anime is mixing music, storytelling, and digital characters in a new way. KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO is trying to show their world-building style with this series in full animation format.
