Kingdom Season 6 Trailer Revealed: Release Date, Story Focus, and Staff Details

The trailer for KINGDOM Season 6 is now finally out. It gives everyone first look of what’s coming when the anime returns this October. Unlike before, this season won’t only focus on big battles or wars. This time, the story focuses more on what happens inside the palace, especially the fight between King Ying Zheng and Lü Buwei.

In the trailer, viewers can also hear the opening song “Ikite, Sansan” by Ikimonogakari. That song plays in the background of a few strong scenes shown. Along with this, a teaser image has also been shared, showing the intense mood of the season. The ending song is named “Houkou” and it’s by Tomonari Sora. It kind of gives the season a soft tone at the end.

A Shift From Swords to Schemes

From beginning of this anime in 2012, KINGDOM has been telling a long story of war and ambition. It follows Shin, a boy who lost everything in war but still dreams to become a great general. His path is not easy and full of twists. This new season now moves away from just swords and armies and goes more into the secrets and planning inside the royal court.

And now, Ying Zheng is not only fighting enemies from outside, but also those near him. Lü Buwei is one of them — clever, dangerous and ready to change Qin’s future. That makes this season more political and serious than some of the earlier ones.
 

Trusted Staff Returns, Manga Legacy Grows

Almost same team is working on Season 6 as in past few seasons.

The manga, written by Yasuhisa Hara, started back in 2006. As of March 2025, it already had 75 volumes. It even got four live-action films made till now. Viz Media also announced in February 2025 that they will bring the manga to English readers. It also won the 17th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize and by now it sold over 110 million copies. That shows how big this series became.
 

Fans are already excited for October. With the new trailer showing serious tone, powerful animation and character focus, it seems Season 6 could be the most emotional and thoughtful one yet.

Now it’s just to wait few more months. The war in KINGDOM is not only outside anymore. The battle for Qin’s future now starts inside the walls.
