Let’s Play Anime Set for 2025 Premiere with Key Staff, Cast, and Anime Expo Debut

The anime version of Let’s Play, based on the popular webcomic by Leeanne M. Krecic, will premiere in 2025. The news was shared through the anime’s new website and social media accounts. A teaser trailer and visual were also released, giving fans a first look at the show.

Let’s Play Anime Creative Team and Cast Confirmed

Daiki Tomiyasu, who worked on Pokémon Sun & Moon, will direct the series. Animation will be handled by Studio OLM. Aya Matsui, known for Marmalade Boy, will write the story for the series. Character designs are being developed by Ebimo. Kana Hanazawa, known for voicing Mitsuri in Demon Slayer, will play the lead role of Sam Young.

Special Panel and Premiere at Anime Expo 2025

Ahead of its release, the anime will host a special panel at Anime Expo on July 3, 2025. The event will include the world premiere of the first episode and feature a discussion with the main creative team. Confirmed panel guests include creator Leeanne M. Krecic, director Daiki Tomiyasu, producer Minaka Sakamoto, script supervisor Hana Sugiwara, and voice director Heather Horn.

From Digital Pages to the Small Screen

Let’s Play made its debut on WEBTOON in 2016 and quickly grew a dedicated fan base. The series ran for three seasons and stood out for its honest, humorous take on modern relationships and internet culture. The story centers on Sam Young, a video game developer living in Los Angeles. She’s on the brink of releasing her first game, Ruminate, when a famous streamer harshly reviews it. Things get worse when she finds out he’s now her next-door neighbor. The story touches on social anxiety, friendship, love, and gaming, with lots of humor and emotion.

The anime will be available to watch on Crunchyroll when it comes out worldwide in 2025.
