Lupin and team face poison, assassins, and treasure on a deadly island mission.
A new trailer was dropped for Lupin the IIIrd: The Immortal Bloodline, which is coming in cinemas in Japan on June 27, 2025. The movie, which brings back 2D animation for this series after almost 30 years, now shows familiar characters and hints at the kind of danger that is waiting.
But even before it comes out in cinemas, an exclusive anime, Lupin the IIIrd: Zenigata and the Two Lupins, will start streaming on June 20. That anime is serving as a prequel to the lead film, providing the viewers with more insight into what's happening and who these characters are.
Characters Featured and Minds Behind
The trailer is of Lupin the Third, along with his allies Jigen, Goemon, and Fujiko. They are seen in different scenes with danger and dialogue, with Zenigata also being depicted pursuing Lupin once more. It starts with Lupin addressing the camera, introducing himself as usual, jokingly.
The direction for the movie is by Takeshi Koike, with animation by Telecom Animation Film. The movie script has been written by Yuya Takahashi, while the music is handled by James Shimoji. Katsuhito Ishii also assisted as creative adviser, with direction of tone and style. For theme music, the song "The IIIRD Eye" is sung by B'z, and can be easily heard in the main trailer video.
Story Setting and Voice Talents
The story revolves around Lupin and the others reaching an island covered with deadly poison, which will kill an individual within one day. While struggling to stay alive, they are also under attack by an assassin team led by an unseen foe. There is also the typical treasure hunt, which can aid them or be something else entirely.
