LEGO’s new One Piece Going Merry set, inspired by Netflix’s live-action series, launches August 2025 with 1,376 pieces and five Straw Hat minifigures
LEGO has revealed a new set, and this one is special because it’s based on Going Merry, the first ship used by the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece. The set is tied to the live-action version of the series from Netflix, which came out back in 2023 and had a big success. A lot of people liked how the show showed the world of One Piece. The designs looked good.
One Piece x LEGO Design Inspired by the Netflix Show, Not the Anime
This set will be available in the U.S. starting August 1st, 2025. It includes 1,376 pieces and will be sold at $129.99. The ship has the well-known sheep figure on the front and yellow sails, just like fans would remember from the story. The whole design seems inspired more by the live-action show, not so much the anime.
You also get five mini-figures of the main crew—Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji. These characters come from the beginning of the story, the East Blue arc. So, for people who like the early part of the journey, this would feel like a nice throwback.
There was also some Chinese writing shown in the picture, which translates as something like “New Battle Ship, Stars Gather in the Cabin.” That probably means they’re planning to also focus on fans in Asia. That’s understandable, since One Piece is super popular there and has made billions in revenue around the world.
It’s the first time LEGO has made a One Piece set like this. With the manga having sold over 520 million copies, it makes sense why they want to do it now. There’s a big fan base for this kind of thing.
Some fans are excited, but others think it’s strange that it’s focused on the Netflix version instead of the original anime. This shows the mixed feelings people still have about the live-action. Some enjoy it, while others still prefer the older version.
Even with the debate, this LEGO set brings something new for fans to enjoy. Whether you love manga, anime, or Netflix series, building the Going Merry might be another fun way to experience the One Piece world—just in a different form.
