Anime fans have something exciting to look forward to at one of television’s biggest award shows this June
After officially added a anime category last year, the Astra TV Awards is continuing the trend in 2025 with strong lineup of nominees. The Best Anime Series category feature both returning hits and exciting new entrys, building up anticipation among fans and industry people alike. The award show are set to happen on June 10, with anime series standing proud next to mainstream Western animations.
Best Anime Series Nominees Revealed
Six titles are in the runnings for this year’s Best Anime Series. Among them is Solo Leveling Season 2 – Arise from the Shadow, following up it’s impressive win from last year. Other titles include Dragon Ball DAIMA, a fresh chapter in iconic franchise, and DAN DA DAN, a fast rising favorite. Fire Force Season 3, The Apothecary Diaries Season 2, and Lazarus also rounds out the list, showing a wide mix of genres and styles.
Voice Performances Get Anime Spotlight
Anime presence extend beyond just series nomination. Several anime voice actor have earn spots in big categories. Aleks Le is nominat for his lead role as Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, competes in Best Lead Voice-Over Performance. He share the category with stars from show like Harley Quinn and Family Guy.
The supporting category too highlight anime talent, with Caitlin Glass (as Nefertari Vivi in One Piece Season 21) and Justin Briner (as Yoo Jinho in Solo Leveling Season 2) getting nods. They joined by actors from popular Western shows such as Invincible and Batman: Caped Crusader.
