The anime The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows is starting a new chapter called "Royal Institute of Healing" with episode 8, airing on May 22, 2025.

The story is about Zenos, a healer who was once rejected and betrayed by his adventuring group. He started a hidden clinic in the city’s backstreets and slowly became known for his amazing healing skills. Now, even the royal palace has noticed him.

A new picture shows Zenos wearing a white robe and a black cape, standing in front of a large, important-looking building. It shows how much his life has changed from living in the slums to becoming someone respected and powerful.

In the new arc, several new characters appear. One of them is Becker, voiced by well-known actor Takehito Koyasu, who may challenge Zenos' place as an outsider. We’ll also meet Cress (voiced by Setsuo Ito) and Goldran (voiced by Tetsu Inada). Their full roles are still a mystery, but they are expected to add new energy to the story.

The anime is based on a popular light novel series by Sakaku Hishikawa. The story was first published in Japan by SB Creative. You can read it in English on J-Novel Club. It shows how Zenos doesn’t give up and tries to help others, even though he had a hard life.
