A heartfelt story unfolds between two students from different worlds in the upcoming anime The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, set to captivate viewers soon
There’s a new anime coming called The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity (Japanese: Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku). It’s now got a release date—July 5, in Japan. The creators also shared a fresh trailer, a key visual, and who did the theme songs. Netflix will stream it, but not until 2025. So fans outside Japan gotta wait a bit longer. It’s based off a manga and CloverWorks is the one animating it.
The anime's opening theme is sung by Tatsuya Kitani. It’s called “Manazashi wa Hikari,” which has a poetic feel to it. The ending song is by UshioReira, and that one’s titled “Hare no Hi ni.” They announced this just now with the new trailer, which gives a small peek at the tone and vibe of the anime.
The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity Release Date
Before the anime starts on TV, there will be a special screening on June 29 at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills. Some lucky fans will get to watch it early.

Story with Heart and Social Barriers
The anime’s story is about two teens from very different schools. Rintaro is a second-year boy at Chidori High. It’s not a great school—kinda messy, known for low grades. He’s actually a nice guy though, and works at his family’s cake shop. There, he meets Kaoruko, a sweet girl who seems different.
They get along quickly, but Rintaro finds out she’s from Kikyo Girls’ High, a classy school with rich students. That’s not great news. Their two worlds aren’t supposed to mix. And once others find out, it’s not gonna be simple for them anymore.
Even if it’s a quiet kind of story, this anime seems like it got something real to say. With emotional music and a solid team, it might end up surprising people. Japan gets it this summer, but the rest of us gotta wait until Netflix brings it next year. Still, fans who like sweet stories with some tension might want to keep an eye on this one.
