TV Anime Adaptation for In the Clear Moonlit Dusk Set for January 2026

A TV anime adaptation of In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, the hit romance manga by Mika Yamamori, has been officially announced. The series is to air in January 2026. As part of the announcement, main production information and a first-look visual have been made available.

Production of the anime is in the hands of East Fish Studio. Yusuke Maruyama, who worked on episodes of Lycoris Recoil, is directing the series. Ayumu Hisao, whose experience lies in Love of Kill, is working on series composition. Yuki Fukuda, who did character designs for Insomniacs After School, will be doing character design. Music for the anime will be provided by Tsubasa Ito, whose credits include Skeleton Knight in Another World.

Main Characters and Voice Cast Revealed

Voice cast has been revealed as well. Rei Ichinomiya will be starring as the lead character Yoi Takiguchi, and Ryota Suzuki will be voicing Kohaku Ichimura. The two are the emotional centers of the series, which focuses on identity, perception, and connection.

Yoi Takiguchi is a high school student who's mistaken for a boy due to her tall height, husky voice, and beautiful features. She's called "Prince" by her friends and has become used to being admired from a distance. But everything changes when she encounters Ichimura-senpai, one of her classmates who, though prince-like in demeanor, does not look at Yoi because of her looks but as a person herself.. Their encounter ignites a delicate but intense tale of increasing self-consciousness and cross-understanding. 

From Magazine Pages to Anime Screens

The original manga first serialized in Dessert magazine in July 2020. It has been well-received by its readers since then. The English edition is licensed by Kodansha USA.
