At Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles, Japanese tech and media company CyberAgent surprised fans by announcing a brand-new original anime called "Project M". This was the first time anyone heard about it, and it came along with a strange visual that looked kind of deep or symbolic maybe. It’s one of the biggest anime expos in North America, so many fans noticed this fast.

The main image show a big turquoise eye, and inside that, a butterfly is just sitting there. CyberAgent's New Anime Studio Aims for Global Impact

Earlier in January this year, CyberAgent started their new anime studio called CA Soa. It is run by Masakazu Ogawa, who worked on Gundam shows back in the day. They said their goal is to make anime that the world will notice, with a modern way of making it. This new project is maybe the first step of that.

In one recent interview, Takahiro Yamauchi from CyberAgent say that their plan is doing everything by themself.
