Asus has finally launched the ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate after teasing their arrival for weeks. Announced on September 19, these two models were marketed as an upgrade over the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro. The new Asus ROG gaming phones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset. Apart from the processor, there are just a few differences between the ROG Phone 6 series and the 6D series. Here’s a closer look at the latest Asus ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate.
Asus ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate: Key features
As mentioned before, there’s not a major difference between the earlier models and the latest release in the ROG Phone 6 series. However, there are some changes implemented, especially on the ROG 6D Ultimate.
Performance, cooling and efficiency
Asus has introduced a new AeroActive Portal for the back of 6D Ultimate. This new cooling mechanism, implemented using the AeroActive Cooler 6, dissipates heat more efficiently on the phone and hence, the phone delivers higher performance. The AeroActive Portal is exclusively for ROG Phone 6D Ultimate which offers 20% better thermal efficiency.
Asus ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate: Design
There’s a slight difference when it comes to the second display on 6D and 6D Ultimate. The back display on Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is a ROG Vision colour PMOLED whereas the ROG Phone 6D has an RGB display showcasing the Republic of Gamers logo.
Other features
Apart from the CPU and back display, there’s really not much separating the Phone 6 series from the Phone 6D series. The camera on the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is the same as the ones on the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro. All four share the 50-megapixel 1/1.56″ sensor with an F1.9 lens as the main rear camera. As for the ultrawide camera, it is a 13MP F2.2 sitting alongside a 5MP macro camera. The front camera on these phones is 12 megapixels.

Pricing and availability of the ROG Phone 6D series
The ROG Phone 6D is priced at £799 (around ₹72,910) in the U.K whereas the Phone 6D Ultimate will cost £1,199 (around ₹1,09,430). The AeroActive Cooler 6 is bundled with 6D Ultimate but can be bought separately for £89 (around ₹8,120). There are no details yet about the Asus ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate pricing and availability in India.
