This agent has been one of the most picked agents in VCT

During the Valorant Champions 2023 event, numerous Agents have taken the stage as teams strategize to dethrone their opponents and leverage characters that can contribute well to the gameplay. Up to this point, nearly all Agents have been showcased in the world championship, with each team using them for at least one map.

However, there remains a solitary Agent who has not made an appearance in the tournament this far, maintaining an element of intrigue and speculation around their potential impact on the matches to come.

Killjoy, the Sentinel Agent, has emerged as a very consistent choice throughout the Valorant Champions tournaments. Despite undergoing some minor nerfs, Killjoy has firmly stood out in the professional meta and has been selected a total of 88 times so far, as reported by RIB.gg.

Killjoy's popularity is evident across nearly all maps present in the competitive pool. Notably, the only exception is Bind, where teams opt to forgo using the Sentinel and instead favour a composition involving two Controllers. 
Killjoy is truly of a kind, as she can be used to defend spikes easily by anchoring the site, strategically placing her turrets and grenades around the spike to buy her team some time. Her ultimate is considered to be one of the most useful elements during both the planting and the defusing phase. It helps clear out the area within seconds and shoot down the enemies who try to push anyway. 

In offense, Killjoy doesn’t have much to do at the start of the round as she only has to push along with her team and help them plant the spike in the area. Her abilities usually come in handy once the enemy team reaches the spike, and tries to defuse it. Her turrets can damage them down to a one or two tap point, and her grenades can be detonated to keep people away from the spike. 

During defence, Killjoy is to be played similarly to how one would use Cypher, while her abilities can be helpful here and there during the start of the round, her survival at the end of the round is of utmost importance, especially if she has her ultimate ready. Lockdown can be used during the final crucial seconds to buy your team the time to defuse the spike without worrying about the other team shooting them down.
Thus, we can easily understand why Killjoy is one of the most used agents during the VCT, and we can certainly not wait to see her in action again.
