Fortnite teases a surprising crossover with Leonardo DiCaprio's upcoming film One Battle After Another, hinting at new content ahead of the movie’s release
Fortnite is always trying new things, but this one feels a bit different somehow. It appears that the battle royale game is going to incorporate elements from the movie ‘One Battle After Another,’ and honestly, not many were expecting that. The movie features Leonardo DiCaprio as the main character, and Paul Thomas Anderson is directing it; that makes it even more surprising. It’s a thriller and is supposed to come out in theaters on September 26. But Fortnite teaming up with it, that part surprises many people.
A short teaser was posted on the movie’s official Instagram. It shows Jonesy, Fortnite’s character, standing in a phone booth, just like DiCaprio’s character in the actual scene. The caption said, “There are no hands on the clock. #OneBattleAfterAnother x Fortnite coming soon.” It didn’t give much else, but something’s happening.
Right now, it’s not really clear what players are going to get. It could be skins, or maybe some new missions, or even something in Creative mode. Honestly, nobody knows yet. It could be something small, or maybe something bigger. It all depends on how far they want to take the idea.
So the movie is about DiCaprio’s character; he was a revolutionary before. Then some of his old enemies show up again, and he meets those activist friends from back then. Sean Penn is playing the villain here. Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor are also in the movie. The whole thing seems like it’s going for a serious tone.

So it’s a bit funny, thinking about serious movie characters showing up in Fortnite. Like imagining DiCaprio or Sean Penn dancing after winning a match. Even picturing other Paul Thomas Anderson characters running around in the game, like Dirk Diggler, feels strange.
But Fortnite’s been doing crazy collabs for a while now. This one might just be the next weird thing.
Meanwhile, Epic Games is still trying to bring Fortnite back to iOS for UK players. It has already returned to the US and EU after a long legal stay. Now, with the movie coming in September, maybe the Fortnite crossover will drop around the same time. It’s just... something to wait and see.
