How to Score More Goals in FIFA Mobile Free Kicks

Learn how to score more free kick goals in FIFA Mobile with tips on swipe control, aiming, curve, power, and practice routines to improve set-piece success.

Free kicks in FIFA Mobile can feel tricky, but with some focus on timing, curve, and practice you might start scoring more often. First, you must get comfortable with the swipe controls and learn how power and curve work together, otherwise you’ll just blast the ball over the bar or straight at the keeper. Then picking a taker with good free-kick accuracy and curve stats makes the rest possible. Adjusting your aim—thinking of clock positions—and matching your power bar to the distance will help you bend it around or above the wall. Also don’t forget to shift the wall and trick the keeper with your shot placement. Finally, regular drills in Training or Skill Games will lock these skills in.

Understanding Free-Kick Controls

Short free kicks need a curved swipe from near the box. If you draw an arc over the wall, that gives the ball topspin, but a side swipe curls it around defenders. You have to control the speed of the swipe too—fast gives you a driven shot, slow gives finesse and dip, but it is easy to get wrong.

Choosing the Right Taker

Always pick someone with at least 80 FK Accuracy, and good curve and power traits. If you skip that step, everything else fails. Hold RT (Xbox) or R2 (PS) to scroll through your free-kick takers before you shoot, because sometimes the default one is not your best option.

Aiming and Curve Techniques

Aim just between the last two defenders in the wall. Picture the goal like a clock—4 o’clock is good for medium-range curls, and 5 o’clock works when you are close if you’re right-footed (flip it if you’re left-footed). If you want a knuckleball style shot, start straight with barely any curve and then raise the power for a wild dip.

Power and Elevation

Use about 2–2.5 bars of power inside the box, and 3–3.5 bars for longer kicks. Too much power and you’ll sky it, too little and the keeper will catch it. Try green-timed power by tapping shoot again just before impact to boost accuracy, though it takes practice.

Using the Wall and GK Positioning

You can nudge defenders forward (LT/L2) or sideways (RT/R2) to shift the wall. Block one side and then curl to the other—keepers often dive early if the wall is out of position.

Practice Routines

In Training mode, repeat Short Free-Kick drills until you hit at least 75% success. Use Kick-Off with two controllers or Skill Games to mimic real match pressure. Keep at it, and your free kicks will soon become one of your most reliable ways to score.
