Marvel Rivals April 30 Patch Notes: Hero Buffs, Nerfs & Event Details

Marvel Rivals has released a big update to rebalance the meta and improve gameplay. This April 30 patch includes important buffs for lesser-played Strategists, toning back overpowered Vanguards and Duelists, and adding new cosmetics, events, and quality-of-life features. Whether playing to earn wins or new styles, there's something in this update for everyone.

Hellfire Gala: Moments – New Event & New Store Bundles

 

Take centre stage with Hellfire Gala: Moments, an event running until May 2. Play to unlock Wolverine's special "Patch" costume for free. Event Date: May 2–May 23, 2025 (UTC).

Costume, Visual Updates, & Bug Fixes

 

• Thor (Lord of Asgard): Enhanced visibility; no crosshair obstruction.

• Doctor Strange (Multiverse of Madness): Enhanced visuals and voice effects.

• New setting: Revert costume-specific sound effects to default.

• Maps: Patched Competitive checkpoint display bugs and Loki’s illusion exploits in Empire of Eternal Night. Fixed oversized heads in Giant-Size Brain Blast.

• Heroes: Wolverine: Aerial ult damage bug fixed, The Thing: No longer attacks allies when enemy is invisible, Cloak & Dagger: Ultimates now honour Magneto and Hulk shields, Star-Lord: Smoothed Rocket Propulsion, Mister Fantastic: Problematic portal interactions fixed, and Wall-Climbers: Fixed unexpected drops at height

 

Hero Balance Changes & Team-Up Ability Boost

Vanguards:

• Captain America: Reduced to 600 health.

• Doctor Strange: Eye of Agamotto cost lowered.

• Groot: Ironwood Wall HP lowered.

Duelists:

• Spider-Man: Amazing Combo radius decreased.

• Winter Soldier: Soiled Voltage takes 2 charges.

Strategists:

• Adam Warlock: Reduces the cooldown on Avatar critics.

• Cloak & Dagger: More base damage when dealing with Hunk and Magneto's indestructible guard

• Luna Snow: Ranged capability is improved.

• Mantis: Light damage gain.

• Stars Aligned (Cap + Winter Soldier): Awards an additional 50 health to nearby comrades on leap.
