OnlyFangs Guild Controversy: 64-Year-Old Leaves Guild? A Breakdown

  • India Today Gaming
  • January 30, 2025 (UPDATED: January 30, 2025 23:30 IST)

Tyler1’s guild drama peaked after defeating Sodapoppin in a WoW duel, leading to PopsBarnGrill’s quiet exit over leadership tensions.

Twitch streamer Tyler1 made headlines in early January 2025 after a high-stakes duel with fellow streamer Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ in World of Warcraft (WoW). The duel, held on January 15, 2025, had significant stakes, including Sodapoppin's dignity and the fate of the guild master and war chief titles. However, the controversy surrounding the event didn't end with the duel. In fact, it triggered further drama within the OnlyFangs guild, ultimately leading to a 64-year-old member, PopsBarnGrill (aka "Pops"), leaving the guild.

The Backstory

Sodapoppin originally founded the OnlyFangs guild, but Tyler1 assumed the guild master role after the previous leader's in-game death on December 30, 2024. This shift came with some tension as Tyler1 roasted Sodapoppin for his lack of experience in WoW, even though Sodapoppin had been playing longer. Once Tyler1 took over as guild master, he swiftly removed inactive members like Nmplol and xQc, promising to lead with an "iron fist."

The Duel

Tyler1, eager to solidify his position, challenged Sodapoppin to a duel for the title of permanent guild master. The rules of the duel required both participants to be at level 60 and use equal gear. Tyler1 emerged victorious, but the drama didn't stop there. In front of the guildmates, Tyler1 asked Sodapoppin to dye his hair pink as punishment, referencing how he'd previously made others follow similar tasks.

Sodapoppin accepted the challenge, responding with "Yes, war chief," and, true to his word, dyed his hair pink, earning respect from the community despite the defeat.

The Pop Controversy

Despite the apparent resolution, things took a sharp turn when PopsBarnGrill (Pops), a 64-year-old member, decided to leave the OnlyFangs guild. The controversy escalated when Mizkif explained the situation, suggesting that Pops had left due to his disapproval of Tyler1's leadership style and his preference for Sodapoppin to remain guild leader. Mizkif added that Pops didn’t make a fuss about his departure and simply quit without a major announcement.

Mizkif's claim: “Pops was very against Tyler and he does not like the drama. Pops wants Chance to be the guild leader and I think Tyler and Zeroji made Pops leave.”

Tyler1’s Response

Tyler1 reacted strongly to Mizkif's video, calling out Pops for his decision to leave. He remarked:
"Okay, so he is 70 years old and still a puy ass bch, like, his feelings hurt in an online video game. Honest to God, I don't know what you want me to honestly sit here and say. Like, brother, he's 70 years old and a video game got his feelings hurt because of how I ran the guild. So, he guild quit. Like, I'm sorry, these WoW players are not real. Like, come on, man.."

Tyler1 continued:

"It is what it is, like I said. Refer to my previous statement. It is what it is. Mizkif did make a fair point; not having fun? Just leave. Nobody gives a sh*t. He didn’t b**ch and complain. He just left. So, honestly, respect on that part."

Pops’ Response

Pops eventually addressed the situation, clarifying that his departure wasn’t directly due to Tyler1’s leadership. According to him, Tyler1 hadn’t broken any rules, but Pops had become disillusioned with the guild's environment. He expressed frustration with the negative atmosphere, where people were upset over small issues instead of enjoying the game, particularly during raids. Pops clarified that he was unhappy with how the guild was run but had no hard feelings toward Tyler1 specifically.

Pops responded to Tyler1’s remarks on Twitch, asserting:
“I DID NOT LEAVE CUZ OF TYLER1.”

This latest drama highlights the ongoing tensions within the OnlyFangs guild, particularly around the leadership battle between Tyler1 and Sodapoppin. While some members, like Pops, chose to leave due to the internal strife, others like Sodapoppin have managed to navigate the drama with humor and resilience. As of now, it remains to be seen how this drama will evolve, and we'll keep you updated if any new controversies emerge.
