Overwatch 2 Season 15 Update: Epic Souvenirs Downgraded, Better Loot Box Rewards

Season 15 of Overwatch 2 has been a game-changer, bringing back Loot Boxes alongside the new Perks leveling system. But just a week after their return, Blizzard quietly made a small yet impactful tweak—all Epic Souvenirs have been downgraded to Rare quality. This means they no longer take up space in Epic Loot Box drops, giving players a better shot at more exciting rewards.

Epic Souvenirs Are Now Rare – Here’s Why

Souvenirs, which were introduced in Overwatch 2, are small emote-like cosmetics that let heroes display various objects. While they can be fun, they’ve never been the most popular customization option—mainly because they compete for emote slots and can feel underwhelming compared to other cosmetics.

Blizzard’s latest hotfix (on February 25) ensures that Souvenirs only appear as Rare drops, meaning Epic Loot Boxes will now contain more desirable items like:

• Skins
• Victory Poses
• Emotes
• Weapon Charms
• Highlight Intros

Even the infamous Epic Winton Souvenir has been bumped down to Rare status, so players hoping for an awesome Epic reward won’t be stuck with a random trinket anymore.
