Spider-Man 2 for PC: Why the Delay in Preorders and System Specs?

  • January 26, 2025 (UPDATED: January 26, 2025 20:38 IST)

With Spider-Man 2's PC launch approaching, key details like system requirements and features remain missing, leaving fans in suspense.

As the count down to Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC is nearing, players are left wondering only more questions with fewer answers. Now, with only four days to go until the game makes its official debut on Steam and the Epic Games Store on 30th January, the missing pieces are badly needed.

Crucial Details Still Unveiled: An Unexpected Absence of Pre-Launch Hype

Despite the game's impending launch, Insomniac has not shared important details. Unlike most major game launches, there has been no announcement of system requirements, leaving players wondering if their PCs will be able to handle this highly anticipated title. In addition, Insomniac has not released a dedicated PC features trailer, which would usually showcase optimizations and enhancements for the platform. The last update from Insomniac was on January 20th, and since then, there's been radio silence.

The situation has prompted frustration on social media, with users like @Mobbie1996 expressing concerns over the lack of pre-order options, system specs, and official marketing materials. Despite being only 10 days away from launch, players are still in the dark about what to expect from the PC version.

In a typical game release cycle, pre-order announcements, trailers, and system requirements would already be a standard part of the conversation. However, with Spider-Man 2’s PC launch, the silence has been deafening. The lack of pre-orders and a proper trailer has left fans scratching their heads. Many wonder whether this could be an issue with the game’s final PC optimization or if Insomniac simply has something else planned for the big reveal.
