Wild Rift 6.1c update brings ARAM and Arena balance changes to augments and champions.
As Riot Games continues to evolve League of Legends: Wild Rift with the launch of Adventure’s Star, the latest update—Patch 6.1c—introduces a targeted set of adjustments to the AAA ARAM and Arena game modes. These changes are part of an ongoing effort to fine-tune the Adventure Modes based on player feedback and gameplay data.
While new content will roll out progressively over the course of the patch cycle, the primary focus of this update lies in enhancing gameplay balance and refining augment mechanics. Developers have promised that future updates will follow a similar approach to improve the overall experience.
AAA ARAM: Augments Overhauled for More Dynamic Play
Several augments in AAA ARAM have undergone significant revisions aimed at improving their effectiveness and gameplay fluidity:
- Mighty Shield now has its shield buff extended from 3 to 5 seconds, and the previously non-renewable duration can now be refreshed upon activation.
- Empowered Effects for multiple augments—such as Defend and Control, Starburst Haste, and Escape Artist—have been upgraded. Notably, movement speed boosts and debuff durations have been increased.
- Lifeline Master now offers a more generous cooldown reduction, dropping from 70% to 85%.
- Speed-based augments such as Full Steam Ahead and Wind Beneath Blade offer quicker mobility with improved scaling based on fixed penetration stats.
- Be Magical now converts bonus attack damage to ability power at a 365% rate, up from 300%.
- Power of Resistance sees notable enhancements in both mobility and offensive potential, including higher movement and attack speed gains, as well as boosted true damage on basic attacks.
- Empowered Recursion now requires fewer ability-based on-hit effects—150 instead of 200—to obtain a Drake Soul.
- Gift of Light delivers a wider damage output, while Jeweled Gauntlet now calculates its critical strike bonus using ability power for more versatile builds.
AAA ARAM & ARAM: Champion Durability Rebalanced
Several champions have been adjusted to better fit the unique conditions of AAA ARAM and traditional ARAM:
- Vex, Rumble, Viego, Poppy, and Gnar all receive reductions to incoming damage, with Gnar and Poppy also gaining increased damage output.
- Ambessa and Nocturne are now more durable in battle, each seeing reduced damage intake, while Nocturne also gains a slight increase in offensive power.
These updates aim to even the playing field for champions whose kits either overperformed or lagged behind in the ARAM formats.
Arena: Fine-Tuning for Items and Select Champions
The Arena mode also receives a streamlined set of changes:
- The Master Smith Prismatic augment sees its item-based bonus stats toned down from 60% to 50%, aligning its impact more reasonably within matches.
- Yuumi, often criticized for her strong sustain, now provides less potent healing and shielding—scaled back to 80% effectiveness.
- Rengar’s Battle Roar ability, which heals based on stored damage taken, has had its effectiveness cut in half, from 60% to 30%, to prevent excessive durability in drawn-out fights.
With Adventure’s Star expanding Wild Rift’s gameplay variety, the developers remain committed to iterative improvements. Patch 6.1c serves as a stepping stone for future balancing acts, ensuring both competitive integrity and an enjoyable player experience across game modes.
