Dell Alienware m15, m17, and new Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 land on the global stage at CES 2021

Computer hardware giant Dell has just announced its latest Alienware lineup of products at its CES 2021 keynote. The company shared the details about its Alienware m15 R4, Alienware m17 R4, and the Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition. As part of the announcement, the company shared the pricing and availability of all the products. However, we still don’t have any details on the pricing and availability of this refreshed lineup for the Indian market. The laptops will feature 10th gen Intel core processors and the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 series mobile GPUs.

Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 desktop tower features AMD Ryzen 3000 and 5000 desktop chips. Buyers can configure the system with both AMD Radeon and Nvidia GeForce RTX GPUs. Here is everything we know about the Dell Alienware m15 R4, m17 R4, and Aurora Ryzen Edition R10.

Dell Alienware m15 R4, and m17 R4 announced, details

Looking at the specifications, both laptops feature almost identical internal specifications. The only difference we see between the two is the display size, differences in cooling, and the physical dimensions. Dell has added up to 10th generation Intel Core i9 10980H with 8 cores at up to 5.3GHz max turbo frequency to the laptops. Both will also come with the option for up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 series mobile GPUs. Other specifications include up to 32GB DDR4 RAM, up to 2TB PCIe M.2 SSD with 4TB in RAID0. One can also add in a 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD in RAID0 setup along with up to 4TB (2x 2TB PCIe M.2 SSD) setup.

Dell Alienware m17 R4 at CES 2021

Alienware m15 R4 and m17 R4 feature 6-phase CPU and 12-phase GPU voltage regulation. As the name states, the m15 R4 features a 15.6-inch display with up to 4K resolution in both OLED as well as LCD panels. m14 R4 features a 17.3-inch display with up to 4K resolution along with Nvidia G-Sync technology support. Both the laptops also come with optional Tobii eye-tracking technology based on the resolution options. Dell will also offer options for high-refresh-rate panels with up to 300Hz on m17 and 360Hz on m17.

There are plenty of ports on both the laptops along with “Legend industrial design” and “Alienware Cryo-Tech cooling tech” with a Magnesium Alloy exterior and Copper alloy for thermal parts. We also get the option for a per-key AlienFX RGB keyboard, FHD webcam, an 86Whr battery, 2.5Gbps LAN, Wi-Fi 6, and a 240W power adapter on the m15 and an optional 330W power adapter on the m17. Dell Alienware m15 and m17, both start at a price of $2,149 and will go on sale starting from January 26, 2021.

The Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 comes with up to AMD Ryzen 9 3950Xs or the newer Ryzen 9 5950X. Both the CPUs feature 16 cores with 32 threads. Dell has also added a Micro ATX AM4 B550A motherboard on the desktop tower. One can configure up to 128GB RAM at 3200MHz or 3400MHz speeds with 2TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD along with an optional 2TB traditional hard drive.

For the GPUs, we can put in up to AMD Radeon RX 6800XT with 16GB GDDR6 video memory. We can also get the R10 with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 with 24GB GDDR6X memory. The desktop comes with plenty of ports, 4 RAM slots, a Gigabit Ethernet port, up to Wi-Fi 6, and up to 1000W power supply. All three devices launched at CES 2021 will come in two color options, Lunar Light or Dark Side of the Moon. On the software side, we get up to Windows 10 Pro with the usual Alienware software.
